20 years of Counsel

Licensed Counselors.

The goal of Adoption Miracles is to provide comprehensive adoption planning, placement, and counseling services to all members of the adoption triad. This includes birth parents, who may be experiencing a crisis pregnancy and have no one to turn to for support and guidance; prospective adoptive parents, who may have experienced the pain and disappointment of infertility and need understanding and compassion in this next step to becoming parents; and some families who just want to open their hearts and home to a child whose parents are not ready to be parents.

RENEE HALSNIK

Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors
Renee Halsnik started the adoption agency in 2001 after working as the Clinical Director of a local Children’s home. She helped transition children in the foster care system to adoptive homes and adjust to the loss issues these children often face. So many children were left waiting and wanting a family of their own, that she decided to start an agency and help children find permanent loving homes. She has extensive years of experience working in a therapeutic setting with children and families as a social worker and therapist. She has been a child advocate in many arenas of her field.

Renee provides extensive information to prospective adoptive families interested in adoption in a supportive compassionate approach. She has spoke at conferences about adoption and how to choose the best agency for you. She lead an in service on what to expect in the adoption process and printed the information into a handbook for her clients that helps prepare them for their adoption. She also counsels many women with an unplanned pregnancy on their options with an understanding of the sacrifice these women are faced with. As an adoptive parent herself, she understands the emotional process families face when they want a child and the crossroads they often face.

Renee obtained her Associates degree in Human Services and went on to the University of South Florida for her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She worked for a grant program to help the department in reunification cases to increase the success rate of children staying in the home. She also went on to complete her Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling and Mental Health at the University of South Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. The agency is also a member of the Florida Adoption Council. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and all her animals. She enjoys traveling and teaching her children all about the world and helping rescue animals find forever homes.
